As with every pre-session for Mitzvah’s or engagement sessions, I always ask to see if there is a theme the parents want such as what the teenagers hobbies or interests or the engagement couples theme, spots they like to hang out or even where they first met.
Ethan’s mom booked photography 2 years in advance for the event but it still came down to the final weeks because we both tried to get Ethan in a theatre. The Easton State Theatre was a possibility but with school it couldn’t work. The Allentown Civic Center came through for us and the staff was very gracious with allowing us into the facility for images. One snag in the plan was that Allentown was hosting their annual St. Patrick’s Day parade – this made it difficult for parking and dealing with crowds. We were able to get in and out of the theatre within an hour and finish up the images at Ethan’s home.
Mom had her heart set on a piano on stage but the Civic Center didn’t have one anymore. Knowing this, I tried to work with what limited angles I had in the family’s house and limited “free” images of theatre’s. Luckily, the State Theatre in Easton did have such an image that I could use. After altering, shaping, enhancing and removing some people, I was able to put Ethan on stage with a piano. Mom and Dad were super parents that just enjoyed the photo session and let us do our thing. Ethan was very cool and so easy to work with.
We look forward to Ethan’s Temple session and party in April.
Here are a few from Ethan’s session.
