Steel Stacks and Lehigh Valley Easy Pages

The past two years have been hard on my family physically and emotionally. The image that made the cover of Lehigh Valley Easy Pages came about because of the many trips to and from St Luke’s Hospital to care for our daughter/sister, Catrina. I would always drive by slow to see the colored lights change on the stacks at dusk and night. I planted in my mind that if and when the opportunity presented itself, I would get as close as I could to capture the HDR images I had in mind. I soon found out that Arts Quest was open which would grant me access to the stacks without worry of trespassing. I arrived early enough to walk around and plan my shots. As seen here, https://davisions.com/2011/06/steel-stacks/ when I blogged about it in June, I took several shots of different buildings and angles. They were all with HDR processing with some at 3-5 different bracket exposures. I understand when Mr. Kirk Whitpan commented and selected the photograph he did, it was because it fit their look. However, it’s the aged black n’ white image that gets the most requests to be purchased on http://www.etsy.com/listing/88701193/bethlehem-steel-stacks. When processed and viewed on metallic paper, the photos really pop. I was fortunate that the partial cloud cover and sun setting provided me with multiple colors in the sky. I never asked, so I can only assume, that Mr. Kirk Whitpan stumbled upon my blog by Googling “Steel Stacks”. Those images alone have over 1000 views from Flickr.  There have been many great images taken of the Stacks over the years. I was just lucky enough that Mr. Whitpan selected mine to cover the Lehigh Valley Easy Pages.  http://www.lveasypages.com/
Easy Pages has an annual distribution of 250,000 copies to businesses and residents throughout the Lehigh Valley.
