What’d you say!? Yes, that’s what I say and that’s what Lora wanted. This isn’t for every bride, but this felt right for Lora. Lora and I originally planned the Trash the Dress session for last year after her wedding, but due to scheduling problems and weather issues it was dropped. I brought it back up to Lora and she was still excited to do it a year later. Just like art itself, it is all subjective. What works and looks good to you, may be a turn off to other individuals. Photography has rules and weddings have tradition. Both are good to know and understand. They encourage you to break the rules in photography as brides are increasingly breaking the traditional rules of weddings. Yes, Lora loves her husband and marriage, but she does have many valid reasons for “trashing her dress” and yes they make sense to me and a lot of other brides out there too. Lora brought along her friends to help as well as her own makeup artist while Melissa and I handled everything else. I’m glad she brought the extra hands because everyone’s arms were full! =) The session took about 3 hours and we were able to cover 4 different locations. We moved pretty quick. Lora left me with all the VISIONS and was a good student and model. =) Yes, it was work, but man we had a blast!
Oh, by the way the dress is fine, it just needs to be cleaned, as do all wedding dresses.
Along with the session, we also took video footage to give future and current brides an idea on what takes place. The video is a behind the scenes glimpse along with actual images already enhanced. Warning, It is 15 minutes in length.Trash The Dress Video Enjoy it along with the few images below.
